RevoCaP™ for animal feed

We can recycle phosphorus. We just can’t feed it to animals yet.

EU rules still ban recycled phosphorus from animal feed, even though that’s one of the best ways to close the nutrient loop. The ban made sense when it was written. But science has moved on: we can now produce recycled phosphorus under tightly controlled, fully traceable conditions that meet strict safety standards.

So we’re teaming up with industry, researchers and policymakers to build the evidence that gets this approved, and puts a critical resource back to work.

Sweden call for feed legislation

Sweden has called on the Commission to seek a new risk assessment by EFSA (European Food Safety Authority) as a step towards revising the feed legislation.

Danish assessment supports the safety of RevoCaP for future feed applications

A new assessment by the Danish Centre for Food and Agriculture (DCA) at Aarhus University concludes that RevoCaP, EasyMining's recycled calcium phosphate produced through the Ash2Phos process, has a very low likelihood of containing undesirable substances at levels of toxicological concern. Can recycled phosphorus play a role in a more sustainable food system?

Through a series of collaborative projects, EasyMining has evaluated RevoCaP, our recycled calcium phosphate, for use in animal feed. The results show high digestibility, compliance with feed quality requirements and a safe value chain from recovered phosphorus to finished feed products. Read more about our feed phosphate evaluation projects.
