Incineration
Incineration of sewage sludge is an effective way of reducing the residual mass from wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) by around 90%. However, the resulting ash still requires costly disposal, despite the fact it’s rich in desirable chemical elements.
The Ash2Phos process converts the resulting ash into commercially viable products. The process is estimated to be economically viable for ashes with a phosphorus content as low as 4%, while most mono-incinerated ashes today are far above that. The large process window also allows for processing of co-incinerated ashes too.
